Just a quick heads-up: we've had a payment of £750 show up in our bank account today, but it looks dodgy. Keep an eye out for spam texts!

How on earth do we stop this blasted messaging?

I recently received an unexpected text message from 07501494685 at around 17:41 on 9th July 2009. The message read something along the lines of: “You can borrow up to £750 deposited straight into your bank account today. Head over to WWW.WEPAY2DAY.CO.UK or if you wish to opt out, simply text '0'.” We decided not to respond, as we're suspicious that it might be linked to a premium-rate number.

We've recently received calls from 303, all from the same company but with various numbers. They just won't leave us alone! It's driving me bonkers!

I've been inundated with messages from this outfit. We even sent a simple 'O' to opt out, and shortly after that, I spoke to someone there who claimed the only way to stop the texts was to reply. Haha! What a colossal waste of time and money. This method is utterly ineffective! These chaps just alter the last few digits of their phone number, so when you respond, it only halts the texts from that specific number!

I received an absolutely identical message like what Fuzz got!
