Got a call with a robotic voice telling me I was under investigation for tax fraud. After checking the number online, I reckon it was just a scam trying to rip me off somehow.

Got a call from an Asian bloke trying to sell life insurance, but I couldn’t make out a word he said. Told him to bugger off and ended the call. Tried calling back afterwards, but couldn’t get through. What a waste of time.

Got a robo call from a woman’s voice saying my Amazon Prime subscription just renewed for £39.99 and if I want to talk to someone at Amazon, I should press 1. Thing is, I don’t even have Amazon Prime and they don’t have this landline number on record! Bet they’ll ring from another number next time, so blocking this one probably won’t do much.

This phone number seems to be fake, probably made by a computer. When I tried to ring back, it wouldn’t connect, so it’s defo not a real mobile number.

I got a call from someone saying they were from PayPal or something about a refund. The bloke had a really strong Indian accent and I struggled to catch what he was saying properly. Felt like it was total nonsense, so I told him as much, then just hung up and blocked the number. Bit strange if you ask me.

I got a call from a man with a thick Asian accent, introducing himself as David John. He said something about a refund on a mortgage, loan or credit card PPI - but he couldn’t really say which one, and I’ve never had any of those. He wanted to verify some personal info before passing me to someone from finance who would apparently give me the figures. When I pushed back on it, he just stuck to his spiel until, out of nowhere, he shouted “go forth and multiply” and hung up on me. Seems pretty clear that wasn’t a legit call!

just got a call about some kind of ppi refund thing, seemed like a scam so watch out!
