Got a call from someone claiming they needed to verify my bank details because the invoice they had differed from the previous one. The bloke said his name was "Tom," but when I asked which company he was from, the info was jumbled and unclear. I asked him to provide the bank details he supposedly had, and he said he couldn’t - instead, I was meant to confirm the full account number, sort code, and everything else. He even asked for the main account holder’s full name and DOB. Totally a dodgy scam, pretty rubbish at that. I told him he’d need to speak to our accounts team and gave him the number for the Dorset Police Fraud Squad instead. Wouldn’t mind knowing how that chat went for him!
