Got a dodgy message claiming my phone got nicked - honestly, these scammers really need to come up with fresh tricks, this one’s ancient news. I've already blacklisted the number.

So this spam caller rings me up out of nowhere, claiming I’m a dad - and I’m just a sixth form girl! It threw me off completely, made me feel like I suddenly had this huge responsibility. But turns out the ‘son’ was just some con artist messing about. Honestly broke my heart. I just hope if I keep my distance and don’t get involved, maybe one day this supposed ‘kid’ will sort himself out, and I’ll still be here if he ever needs me.

Got a message saying "Dad it's me" which instantly threw me off since I’ve got no kids. Then it went on about their phone getting nicked and asked me to reply to +447498579666 on an old phone with a busted speaker, ended with a kiss symbol. Bit cheeky, that little X at the end. Seems pretty obvious that if you actually text back, you might get hit with some mad charges without realising.
