Got a call the other day from this number 074985685, didn’t recognise it at all. The person asked if they were talking to me and said my name, but they sounded unsure or something. Since I keep getting dodgy calls all the time, I just figured it was some scammer trying to trick me. Tried ringing them back but nobody picked up, so I’m just gonna block it and move on.

Anyone who rings back unknown numbers is just asking for trouble, seriously daft if you ask me. This could easily be one of those old wangiri scams making a comeback. You won’t realise until you get your phone bill and see the charges. Scammers flood calls using thousands of fake numbers generated by computers, and sometimes by chance, they call a proper, innocent person which causes a lot of hassle. Some folks end up getting their number flagged here or reported to 7726. Worst case, you might even end up talking to an actual crook.
