I got a call from some bloke who said he was from the fraud team at HSBC. He spoke proper like a pro and was on the phone with my mum for over half an hour trying to get her card info and stuff. Luckily, I heard the conversation from the other room and managed to stop her just in time before she gave away anything. What got her in the first place was replying to a dodgy text message that, if you knew what you were looking at, was clearly fake and had nothing to do with HSBC.

Got a text from 07704504917 saying "mum my phone’s not working, message me at 07498225162" but I’ve blocked both those numbers now.
