someone rang me saying they were from the ‘british finance institute’ which ive never come across before. they told me there was a ppi refund cheque coming my way. they said it’d arrive in a few days. i gave them my dob and address but nothing else. when i asked if they could send me something in writing to confirm it, they just cut the call off.

Got a call from someone overseas saying they were with the financial conduct authority about a refund cheque for PPI. They asked for my dob as a security check but when i wouldnt give it to them, they just ended the call. Feels like a scam to me, probably trying to grab your info and pass it on or sell it.
