Got a call from someone claiming to be from a debt help agency, saying I could get 60% of my debt cleared thanks to a government scheme with no upfront costs. They told me I didn’t have to agree straight away, mentioning they’d send some paperwork in the post so I could mull it over properly. But as soon as they started asking personal stuff about how much I owed, something felt off. When did the government start calling from a mobile number or just offering help out of the blue? Definitely gave me the creeps and I’m almost certain it’s a scam.
