At first, I received a recorded call claiming there was some fraudulent activity linked to my National Insurance number, instructing me to press 1 to connect with the "relevant department". As soon as I remarked, "you began your spiel before I even answered", they abruptly ended the call. When I tried to return the call, a chap on the line insisted he wasn't affiliated with the organisation at all. Quite the puzzling experience, I must say!
