Just got a dodgy text claiming that HMRC has decided I'm entitled to a tax refund. Total scam! Stay vigilant, everyone!

On the 16th of May, I got a call saying I’m entitled to a tax refund of £257. I’m based in Plymouth, South West Devon. They wanted me to click a link to claim it, which seemed a bit suspicious to me.

Got a text from 882 a couple of days back saying I’m due 250 quid and then it had a link to click to claim it.

Just got a message about some tax rebate balance, the site looked really professional but it’s clearly not official gov stuff. Definitely fishy.

I keep getting messages about some PayPal account, but I don’t even have one. It’s just nonstop scams. I’m from the North East of England.

Got a message claiming there was an issue with my PayPal, but my bank said everything's fine, so I just ignored and deleted it. Definitely a scam!

Just got a call saying my Paypal got locked because of some failed payment thing, and they want me to log in at [#]pay-security27[###]/!/2p=4 to fix it. Definitely smells like a phishing scam, watch out everyone!

Got a text supposedly from HMRC saying I’m due a tax refund of £257. It looked dodgy to me, with a link to click to ‘claim’ the money. Obviously, I didn’t go anywhere near it - seemed like one of those scams trying to get your info. Watch out if you get something similar!
