Picked up the phone and all I could hear was silence, then the caller just abruptly hung up. Feels like some kind of automated system checking if the number is live and if someone actually picks up. Probably part of a massive list they’re working through, and once they confirm a real person is there, I bet the number gets passed on to salespeople later on. This has happened twice today already, but both calls came from different numbers. One of the numbers was 07896171883. The tactic was exactly the same - no sound whatsoever, then a sudden hang-up.
