I got a call from this robotic automated voice saying it was HMRC and that I might be in legal hot water. It told me to press 1 to speak to someone. I wasn’t sure if it was legit though, because HMRC would usually call from a proper number or at least a private line, right? Plus, starting with a dodgy robot voice seems off. It didn’t seem dangerous on the surface but definitely makes you cautious since it could be an attempt to steal personal details.
