Got a call from an insurance firm. He asked a few simple questions then told me I was overpaying and that they could offer me a better rate with the same provider. He wanted my bank sort code and account number to set up a direct debit there and then. I told him I wasn’t comfortable sharing bank details over the phone and I wasn’t looking to switch or change my life insurance policy. He didn’t seem too pleased with my answer, to be honest.
