Complete con job, pretending to be from some bank PPI compensation team. They claimed I'd been awarded £2550 plus £1550 in interest from my bank. When I said my bank was "Bank of Paris" - which isn't real - they didn’t catch on. Next, they gave me some reference and ID numbers, insisting they didn’t need any bank or card details and that the money was in some kind of wallet. Then I got passed to another guy with an Asian accent, who asked me for the ref and ID numbers again. I gave the wrong ones this time, and he seemed a bit thrown. He asked for my phone number to supposedly verify the info, then gave me completely different ref and ID numbers, saying those were the real ones. He said I wasn’t great with tech and offered help to access the wallet. That’s when he asked me to put the phone on loudspeaker - why? Then he told me to download an app called ‘Anydesk’ from the Play Store, which he could use to remotely control my phone to steal passwords, bank info, identity, everything. Absolute sharks - these scammers need to be stopped. You should definitely report this to the police and the Financial Conduct Authority for phishing and fraud.

A lot of these calls come from people pretending to be from some company, but they’re just after your bank info. Don’t trust what these scammers say, there’s no real firm behind those names. If you just don’t answer or hang up straight away, they can’t steal your cash. They often hide who they really are for obvious reasons. Any call starting with +44 isn’t really from a normal landline, it’s probably automated. Make sure you report these dodgy calls to phishing.gov.uk, or you can text Dall to 7726. Stay careful out there!

Got a call that seemed to come from Pakistan or India through some internet trick, definitely a bank scam. I blocked them straight away and sent a text to 7726 to report it. Be careful!

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise and they didn’t leave a voicemail either, so I just blocked it straight away.

I keep getting calls from this Nexbridge Communications Limited thing. From what I’ve figured out, they seem to be selling phone numbers mostly to scammers. They give out either landlines or mobile numbers, along with a list of numbers to ring up. So if your phone buzzes from one of their VoIP numbers, chances are you’re just on some call list they handed over. Sounds a bit dodgy if you ask me.

Dodgy lot, constantly ringing up, sending texts, emails, and even fake letters daily. Blocking their numbers doesn’t seem to help much as they just switch to different ones. I spoke with the police, and they suggested reporting everything to Action Fraud, plus raising awareness on social media since these websites alone won’t stop the scammers. The officers told me everyone getting these calls or messages should make posts warning others and encourage sharing, so more people know about the scams. These cheats have swindled hundreds of thousands of pounds in just the last few days, according to the police, so it’s important to spread the word and try to put a stop to it. Knowledge really is the best defence against these awful criminals.
