A lady called me saying she was from my neighbourhood energy company. I told her I’d actually spent a few years working in the energy sector and explained that nowadays, there’s no such thing as a ‘local’ energy supplier here in the UK. She just cut me off after that. I ended up blocking the number.

Got a weird phone call from someone claiming to be an energy advisor for my area but it was just a woman’s pre-recorded voice. I hung up straight away.

On the 15th of November, someone rang me at about half past eight in the morning. I've got into the routine of ignoring calls from numbers I don't recognise, unless I’m waiting on a call from a company and I’m not sure what number they’ll use. This time, no voicemail was left, so I looked up the number here and it turns out it was a telemarketer trying to sell home insulation.

Got a call about loft insulation that turned out to be a complete con.

On the 4th of November, someone rang me about loft insulation and mentioned they'd call back to confirm a time for a loft inspection. The next day, the 5th, I checked the number and decided I wasn’t interested in booking anything. When they called again, I made it clear I didn't want the appointment. The person kept insisting their company was genuine, but when I still said no, they threatened to report me and said I might get fined. Quite a pushy experience!

I got a call around 9.30 on the morning of 2nd Nov 23, from a lady claiming to be the local energy advisor. She asked if I was the owner of the property there. I told her I wasn’t the owner and she just hung up straight away.
