I didn’t pick up since the number was unfamiliar, it only rang for about 19 seconds just like the other calls that never bother leaving a voicemail. I’ve just gone ahead and blocked it now.

I got a call from someone who sounded like a proper English chap, RP accent and all, but he didn’t seem to know my name. Claimed he was ringing from Home Choice and asked if I could spare a minute to hear him out before deciding if it was worth my time. I told him I don’t like getting calls I didn’t ask for, but he just kept on chatting. So I just said goodbye and hung up. Been getting loads of missed calls from numbers like that lately.

I recently expressed an interest in an online investment venture called 7pip and was promptly contacted by someone keen to get me on board. While some of their queries were pertinent, it felt like the majority were just fishing for personal details to make their sales pitch more tailored. I was met with a fair bit of pressure to sign up immediately, but I held my ground and eventually had to hang up, as they wouldn’t take my refusal in stride. Since then, I’ve been inundated with around a dozen calls from this same firm, all originating from numbers beginning with 07488-8.. I’ve picked up a couple of times just to reiterate my disinterest, but now I’ve resorted to ignoring and blocking any incoming calls from them. They seem to have an endless supply of new numbers. I also stumbled across a similar article online - an interview featuring yet another celebrity; the presentation is identical, and their pitches seem far too optimistic to be genuine.
