This person rang up saying they worked for a firm that handles wills. I told them I’ve never had one, but they kept insisting I did one about five years ago. They wouldn’t quit going on about it, even said my partner must’ve done one too. They then asked what kind of will I supposedly had. I ended the call, but they phoned back around four times and eventually started asking how to spell my surname.

Someone rang me saying they were from a finance firm named Edelcap. They already had my name, which was odd. When I asked how they got my number, they just said they sometimes dial numbers by mistake, then they ended the call. Definitely a scam.

The caller spoke really quickly, which made it hard to catch the company name. When I asked how he got my number, he said I must've clicked on a website saying I wanted to make some extra cash. I told him I hadn’t clicked on anything like that and asked for the name of his company, but he just ended the call.

I picked up and some robot woman started talking about HMRC and legal stuff, saying I owed money and needed to pay straight away. I just hung up and checked the number afterwards, turns out it was a total scam like I thought.

Somebody said they were from British Gas talking about rising energy costs...I told them I’m on a fixed contract, but they kept going on and on. So I asked straight up, ‘are you sure you’re really from British Gas?’ They said yes, so I replied, ‘well, if that’s true, you should already know I’m locked into a fixed deal with BRITISH GAS.’ They just said thanks for my time and hung up. Total scam attempt!

The number wasn’t saved in my phone but I answered it anyway. The person on the other end used my name, asking ‘Is this XXXXX?’ I said, ‘Who’s this?’ and she replied, ‘Hi XXXXX, it’s Emma.’ I instantly cut the call. I don’t know anyone called Emma, and even if it was someone random like from the gym or somewhere, I’d expect them to say how they know me straight away. Plus, she never called back or left a message, which makes me feel like I was right to be suspicious.

Got a call from someone saying they were from DG Investments offering some sort of "investment chance". Told them straight up I don’t deal with investments pushed through cold calls, too risky for me (!!!). Also let them know this number’s on the TPS list, so they really shouldn't be ringing me out of the blue. I’ll be lodging a TPS complaint, but I’m not holding my breath it’ll change anything.

Playing along like I knew what I was talking about, I said I work in finance. They asked how long I'd been in the field, I said 25 years, and they just ended the call right away. Pretty clear they're targeting people who don't really know much about finance. Best to just hang up.

Someone called claiming to offer crypto trading help, asked for cash. Claimed to be with coinmarketcap but wouldn’t share any more details. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

Complete rip off. Had a bit of fun with the bloke telling him I deal in scrap metal, rattled off loads of different metals just to mess about, then asked if he fancied buying any. When he said no, I just told him to shout if he ever changed his mind and then ended the call. Proper pain in the neck.

I received a call from a number claiming to be EFRI Recovery. They wanted me to provide my cryptocurrency wallet address so they could supposedly return my lost funds. However, when I reached out to EFRI directly via email, they assured me that it was all a scam, stating they never initiate calls like this. It’s infuriating to encounter these scammers once more! Is there any chance someone could put an end to this? I urge the authorities and government to take action!

I received an unsolicited call concerning bitcoin, and it certainly has the hallmarks of a scam. The callers purported to be representatives of Coin Market Cap, yet interestingly, I discovered that the company is listed as dissolved here: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13795945. Moreover, my number was apparently obtained from Directive Marketing Agency, which is also marked as dissolved: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13048405. To make matters worse, the individuals on the other end were quite discourteous. When I attempted to return the call, all I was met with was some monotonous hold music. Quite the unpleasant experience!
