He kept nagging me about my mortgage, but I told him I don’t actually have one, hoping he’d take the hint. Instead, he quickly changed angle and started trying to convince me to remortgage. I said “I’m getting ready to retire, what’s the point in a new mortgage?” There was an awkward pause, then he just cut me off. Honestly, that was really cheeky.
