Someone attempted to pull a scam on Gumtree using the email [email protected]. Be careful if you come across it!

Total beginner at scamming. I replied to a Gumtree listing selling an organ, settled on the price, then got a fake 'PayPal' document saying I had to send £500 to some account under Kuwamdeen Abiola to release the payment. Absolutely nonsense. The person calling themselves Paula David gave an address that, when checked, is actually a property recently sold on Rightmove. Complete waste of time.

Total newbie scammer this one. I replied to a Gumtree ad selling an organ and we settled on the price. Then they sent a fake PayPal document claiming I had to pay £500 to some account under the name Kuwamdeen Abiola so the PayPal transfer for the sale would go through. Absolute nonsense. The name they gave was Paula David with an address that, when checked, is actually a place listed recently on Rightmove for sale. What a joke.
