Received a message from +44 7488 845143 claiming to be from Barclays, alerting me to a possible fraud issue. The message read: "BARCLAYS Fraud Alert: We need to confirm an online transaction of £76.99 made to 'Argos' at 10:39 on 31/07/2023. Please reply 'Y' if you approved the transaction, or 'N' if you did not." I promptly replied with 'N' and then was contacted at 0800 901 2022. Thankfully, I had the foresight to look up that number here and discovered I wasn't the only one who received this dodgy message for the same amount. When I mentioned I would reach out to Barclays on my own accord, the caller seemed flustered. He acted all confused and ended the call abruptly. Quite the fishy situation!

Utter scam! I received a message claiming to be from BARCLAYS, warning me of a supposed fraudulent transaction of £76.99 for ‘Argos’ at 12:51 on 27/07/2023. It instructed me to reply ‘Y’ if I had indeed made the purchase, or ‘N’ if I hadn’t. Naturally, I decided to ring up Barclays just to be sure, and they assured me that no contact had been made in my name. This was definitely a dodgy attempt to swindle me!
