I got a call from a robotic voice saying some letter from HMRC had been sent back and they’d start legal action. It told me to press 1 to talk to an agent. I didn’t press anything and the phone just went dead. Total SCAM.

Somebody rang me saying they were from BT and could help me save cash on my contract because I was a business. They even repeated my number back, which I think they got from a Facebook fundraiser I did ages ago. When I told them I’m not a business and that event was like 10 years back, they quickly apologised and hung up. Bit strange if you ask me.

Someone called saying they were with Prestige working for O2 and mentioned I might get some discounts since I’m registered as a business. I asked if I could check the offer online but they said it was only available over the phone - that made me suspicious. I told them to call me back after the holidays and immediately blocked the number. After reading what others have said, I’m really happy I was cautious!

Had an incredibly cheeky woman from some office claiming she was “approved by O2” to chat about my contract finishing soon. What’s all this GDPR nonsense about? I just asked where she got my number, and before I could finish she cuts me off saying, “Like I said, we’re xyz company and fully authorised.” Yeah right, get lost. I ended the call there and then. Now I need to dig out my O2 contract to see if I even agreed to third party calls (which I never do, plus I don’t pick up from numbers I don’t know).

Not sure who rang me from this and a few other numbers like it, I normally keep my phone on 'do not disturb' so only calls from certain people get through. If I see a call from an unfamiliar number and there’s no voicemail, I usually block it straight away.

Some bloke rang me saying it was about my O2 deal. I asked if it was just a friendly check-in or if there was an issue. Then he told me he was from Prestige Telecom, so I hung up straight away and blocked the number. Had a quick look on Google and found loads of warnings about their scams. Avoid them if you can!

Said she was calling from a phone company about an O2 upgrade, but before I could say anything she quickly asked if I was self employed. I told her it’s best to send any offers by email as I dont do deals or share info over the phone. She said she’d update her system and then just hung up. Looks like a total scam! Watch out!

Ziron Limited, anyone know where they got this number from? Seems like they’re a business that hands out phone numbers mostly to scammers to trick folks. They provide a landline or mobile number and also give out a list of working numbers for people to ring. So, if you get a call from a number linked to a VoIP seller, chances are you’re on that call list.
