Got a call from someone saying they were from NatWest, trying to pull off a banking scam. My elderly father-in-law ended up convinced and downloaded some dodgy e-banking apps, which led to tens of thousands being taken from his savings and current accounts. Luckily, we managed to get all the money back in the end. When I picked up during one of their calls, they just cut the line straight away.

I got an email about my road tax being overdue, which seemed a bit off. Then the next day, they called me and dropped a bank name along with my full name - the same way I had it registered for my road tax. That’s when I realised the email and phone call were linked, so I just hung up straight away.
