blimey, can you actually trust this? no way, it’s gotta be some kind of joke, right? are folks really that daft? this whole thing sounds a bit iffy. i’ve seen other posts about people getting scammed like this before, so i’m not too sure. honestly, it’s pretty hard to swallow this one!

This guy was proper gross, done the exact same thing to me, asking if my boss was about. When he saw it was just me, he started acting all weird and kinda threatening in the way he spoke. Ended up having to take out £40 cos my health matters more than cash. It’s really sad that these w*****s are pulling this, cos I’d usually be happy to help someone who needs it, but now I’m not so sure. This all went down in Sutton, Surrey SM1.

This bloke popped into the micro pub I run on Dartford High Street around noon today, telling the same tale about knowing my boss and needing £38 for some urgent work on his BMW or else he’d be hit with a £700 fee. Claimed he was a doctor at Medway Hospital and seemed proper stressed. I felt sorry for him and thought if I was ever stuck like that, someone might lend me a hand. So I took £38 from the till and gave it to him, thinking I was doing a good deed. He never showed up again, and now I’m out of pocket by £38, which I really can't afford.

Today we had someone called "DR MARINI" pop into our showroom in Farringdon with the usual tale about knowing the manager and needing £40 for his car that supposedly broke down. When I said I need to check with my manager first before giving any cash, he got quite irritable. He did leave his phone number and said he'd be back in about an hour but never showed up again. He’s quite tall, around 6ft plus, Mediterranean look, dressed in dark trousers and a beige jacket.

This exact thing happened to me too - some scammer showed up at my dental clinic in CANARY WHARF, LONDON on Friday 22nd Feb. He’d clearly done his homework and knew the names of a few of my dentists, even said he was mates with one of them! I wasn’t having any of it and told him no cash, so he stormed off looking pretty pissed. Jerk. I alerted security right away, they got him on their CCTV but missed grabbing him. They told me to ring the cops.

Got a call from Dr Robert Marini at our Estate Agency. He asked for someone specific who wasn’t around. Same story about his BMW breaking down, saying he’d got 15 minutes to get it moved before it gets towed with a £700 penalty. Wanted £30 straight away. We said no and then he hung up. The number he used was 07487630070. Looks like the same bloke as before. Now he’s in Oxford!

Yesterday, 30th January, a man calling himself "Dr Robert Marini" came into our store in New Haw, Surrey. He asked for £40 as his car had apparently broken down, promising to pay it back the following day. He mentioned knowing another person who works here and gave the phone number 07487630070, but I’ve tried dialing it and no luck getting through. He claimed to drive a BMW X6 with the registration OB35XRD and said he worked at St Johns Clinic or Surgery.

I didn’t give him anything cause I felt he was making it up. This just happened to me in Twickenham too. The guy told me some story about the doctor and a car that broke down, then asked me for £36! Today at around 4:15pm in Henley on Thames, I got tricked by a bloke. He was tall, skinny, bald, white guy with a slight accent. Said his name was Dr Robert Marini, mentioning his wife Becky Morgan Marini as a regular customer. Claimed to work at St Johns Surgery and that his car had broken down on Henley bridge.
