Got a call from Lloyds bank abit ago, saying someone new had been added as a payee on my account! Couldn’t believe it!

Got a text earlier today, 5th May 2021, saying HSBC had authorised a new payee and included a link to cancel it if I didn’t recognise it. Problem is, I’m not even an HSBC customer. I double checked with my bank and they told me it’s a common scam going around.

Just got a message claiming to be from Royal Mail saying I’ve got to pay a ‘dispatch fee’ right away to some dodgy number - [#]poastalfees-rm{###]. Thing is, the word ‘postal’ was spelt wrong and I wasn’t even waiting for a package. Totally fishy if you ask me.
