On 26th Sept 2020, I got a text from +447485683589 saying, "Attention!!! Im just curious what sort of help this form is offering cos I've heard a lot of older pensioners get caught up in these scams and lose loads of money. There should really be some kind of advert to warn people in general about this stuff.

Thankfully I’m clever enough to spot a scam, but plenty of vulnerable people might fall for it. They want over £700 just to post your cheque to you. What legitimate service charges that much just to send a cheque?!? Seems like they’re making loads of money ripping people off and don’t send anything back. The cost to send those texts is around £60,000, plus about £7,000 to purchase the list of phone numbers. The bastards behind these scams are incredibly rich and often operate through reputable companies, but hardly ever get looked into or face any legal action.
