I've had the same thing happen here - got a txt from BT with some dodgy number, then a follow-up call telling me how to opt out. The worst bit? The first call came at 1:30 in the morning on a Sunday, then a second one at half past three on a Saturday night. Seriously, whoever runs these scams should be thrown in jail, fined big time, or have some proper punishment like pulling out their nails!

I've had about four rounds of calls, usually coming in pairs spaced a few minutes apart. They mostly happen late at night, between midnight and 2 am GMT, though the latest one was nearer 3 pm GMT. The caller typically leaves a message that goes something like: "it is at 477,958." I tried blocking texts to my landline, but before I did that, on 22nd November at 12:20, I received a weird call where no one replied - just some background radio noise. I said “hello, hello, hello,” but the call just cut off straight away.

I got a couple of calls on my data-only SIM card. The first time no one said anything, then the second time I got a text about some e-a-claim thing. It said to text STOP if I want to opt out. Honestly, I’m a bit wary to reply - no clue what’s going to come from it.

07484635801 Just got the same weird calls. It’s from BT’s text to voice system saying something like “Yen at.”. The calls always come in pairs - first one’s about Yen rates, then another one shortly after. I thought BT’s text service was meant to stop calls overnight between 11pm and 8am, but I got this at 12:22am! Rang 0800 587 5252, pressed option 5, and switched the whole thing off now.

I got a call from BT Text Delivery twice, once at 3:59 am and again at 4:01 am. The messages were weird, something like "Yeah Ian 447958” then another one saying “Claim / to opt out text stop”. It’s like they don’t realise you can’t text back “claim” or “stop” when the number they’re messaging is a landline. Honestly, how dumb can they be?

I've been getting texts sent to my landline, which seems really odd. Usually, they come one after the other from the number 07484 635801, often late at night or at random times.
