I got a call from a woman abroad who calmly explained that a pricey phone was purchased on Amazon using the card linked to my account. She said someone hacked my account and they wanted to fix it by refunding me and updating my password. But she told me to go to something like “amazon uk” instead of the actual amazon.co.uk website. When I asked questions, she seemed to know a lot about me, though she had no idea I don’t even have a smartphone.
