I got a call from someone claiming to be from Currys PC World, chatting away about some issue with my EE phone. Problem is, I don’t even have an EE phone! I asked for his name and where he was calling from. He said his name was Sam Smith and gave me a sketchy address in London. The call finished with him shouting a load of rude words at me. Total scammer, for sure.

Got a text claiming to offer a cheaper energy bill support scheme. Looks dodgy to me. The UK Government would never ring up using a private number like that. Definitely seems like a scam to watch out for.

When he told me the company he was representing, his accent was so strong I couldn’t make out a single word. I asked him to say it again, but it was just as unclear. In the end, I just ended the call and blocked the number completely.

This number rang me the other day, and some bloke claimed he was ringing from Curry's, asking if I used the EE network. I’m not with EE, and when I didn’t want to say who my provider was and asked why it mattered, he just cut the call. Seems odd for a proper seller to just hang up if they were trying to pitch me an EE deal. He was a bit too eager and looked quite shocked I answered at all. Thought I’d share this in case it’s useful.

There was a lot of noise in the background and the caller had a thick Indian accent. She tried pushing mobile phone deals on me and sounded like she was just following a script. When I asked her to identify herself, she just went over the same sales pitch again.
