The person on the other end, speaking with what sounded like an Asian accent, said they were from a debt collection agency and that my mate owed several debts. I told them I worked with her and didn’t want to get involved, then hung up. Later, my friend said she had no clue what that was all about. Pretty sure it was a scam!

I’m a teacher and obviously cannot pick up the phone in the middle of lessons, so I have to make sure to switch it off or else it just keeps buzzing nonstop.

Got a call from a bloke with a really strong Indian accent claiming to be from the British Medical Association, saying he wasn't selling anything. He kept asking about my Covid vaccinations and whether I had life insurance. I declined to chat and ended the call straight away. These kinds of calls are such a pain and honestly should be banned. Usually, I ignore unknown numbers, but I was expecting a call from my phone company, so I picked up this time. Glad I’ve always told my elderly dad not to pick up unless the caller ID shows a familiar name.

Got a call twice today from this and another number. Didn’t pick up the latest one, but the earlier call I did answer and all I got was an automated voice saying goodbye. Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Seemed like he was trying to push me into revealing the name of my insurer, mentioning I might be entitled to some kind of payout. When I told him I actually work in healthcare and that the BMA wouldn’t make calls like this, he just abruptly ended the call.

A bloke rang saying he was from the UK Government, asking about my life insurance after COVID. He said it was compulsory and if I didn’t give him the info, I’d keep getting calls from them. Told me to Google it to prove it was true. What a joke! Didn’t give him any info, obviously.

In the space of a fortnight, my phone has rung off the hook with a staggering 16 calls, all classified as scams! Occasionally, I’m bombarded with three or four in a single day. Today’s call was a tad unusual, displaying "BT Calling WiFi", which piqued my curiosity for a moment. However, it has become quite a nuisance; I received three calls on Monday, one on Tuesday, another three on Wednesday, and yet another trio today, all from varying numbers. This charade has been relentless and, to be quite frank, I simply can’t afford to keep reporting these bothersome calls. Ignoring them hasn't seemed to do the trick either. It wouldn't surprise me if there’s a connection to my car insurance renewal, as the flood of calls kicked off just weeks before it was due back in November. How frustrating!

Absolutely a complete scam operation, employing some sort of automated dialler to compile lists of active phone lines. They’re relentless, ringing multiple times. So far, I've traced a staggering 73 different numbers that they're using, which is just off the charts! It's a bit of a laugh, really, given that they’re targeting an old number of mine that’s no longer in service. The best I’ve managed to track down are Sims connected to individuals named Singh and Wylde, but that involved quite the lengthy discussion with the network providers. I even pretended to be the owner of the secondary numbers, spinning a yarn about a sim fraud using my number. Here are just a selection of their numbers:

Got a call earlier, they asked for me by a first name I don’t even go by. When I questioned who was on the line, the person said with a thick accent they were from the British health agency. Never heard of such an agency, seemed fishy, so I just hung up. Pretty clear this was just another scam trying to bother me. Added the number to my block list straight away.
