Got a call from someone who said they were with some British medical group or whatever, trying to check on my covid and flu jab status. Then suddenly they started asking about life insurance. When I told them I wasn’t into that, the bloke said he wasn’t trying to sell anything. I pressed him on why he was calling and where he got my details from, then he just hung up. Definitely a dodgy call, so I’ve blocked the number now. Feels like a classic scam to me.

Honestly, just put your phone on silent or totally mute, you won’t get disturbed by any random calls. If it’s really important, they’ll probably drop a text or send an email anyway. Whenever I get a sketchy call, I look up the number on one of those reverse phone apps, then block and report it straight away. Never pick up those dodgy calls, that’s just asking for trouble. Got a call about some unsecured debt or something like that. When I questioned them, they quickly said they must have the wrong details. The bloke had an Asian accent which made me a bit suspicious straight away. Definitely feels like a scam to me. I’ve ended up blocking the number now. Some scammer pretending to be from the health department (not even local) called me today. I was only half-listening to my radio when they suddenly hung up after about 30 seconds. This was the second time that exact number popped up - definitely a scam.

Once more, someone named 'Sarah' rang me saying she was from Legal & General life insurance. She asked, "We notice you pay monthly, is everything alright with the payments?" I replied sharply, "Yes, it is." Then she said, "Your policy review is coming up, let's check some details." I asked, "Which company are you actually with?" Sarah insisted, "Legal & General." So I shot back, "So not L & G then? What company are you really with?" There was complete quiet on the other end and then she just ended the call.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be from the maintenance department for every council. They asked about any repairs I needed done and then wanted to chat over WhatsApp. I told them I don’t use that app and offered to email instead, but they insisted on getting my email first. The caller had a foreign accent and when I started doubting their story, they handed me over to a “supervisor” named Andrew. He even mentioned I’d get a big payout once repairs were sorted. Honestly, these scammers crack me up with the rubbish they come up with!

When I said I doubted he was really from a credit investigation, he just said well if you don’t trust me and then cut off the call suddenly. Never mentioned which company or agency he was from, sounded like a typical call centre though. Honestly, I’d say just ignore this one, don’t pick up and be careful out there.

Got a call on 27/11/23 from someone claiming to be from a credit checking agency. They actually knew my name but it felt dodgy, so I just ended the call and blocked the number. Total scam, I reckon.

This number rang me twice, once Friday afternoon around 2PM and again early Saturday morning at about 8:30. I didn’t pick up either time since I didn’t know who it was and my phone flagged it as spam. Just a heads up to everyone, watch out because this could end up costing you a lot. A mate of my sister actually got scammed and lost her whole paycheck because of it.

I never pick up calls from unknown numbers, whether it's on my mobile or my home phone. I just looked through my mobile and found I’ve blocked about 17 different numbers, all beginning with 074. If my phone rings and the number starts like that, I just hang up straight away. They keep ringing nonstop; every time I block one, another pops up. After every call, I check the app 'Who Called Me' and see the exact same complaints from others about those numbers. No matter how many times they try, I’m not getting drawn into answering them.

I think they might have been calling from India or somewhere similar. At one point, they just let the phone sit down and started mumbling to themselves! Really weird.
