I just got a call from the takeaway place after I ordered, since I picked the cash-on-delivery option. They wanted to double-check that I really did order, so they aren’t left making food for a fake order or anything. Definitely not a scam.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said he was from a nearby takeaway. He asked if we’d placed an order for someone named Olivia. I hadn’t ordered anything and don’t know anyone called Olivia, so I told him that and then he just hung up. Bit odd really.

I got a call from a woman with a Sunderland accent claiming she was calling from a local takeaway. She kept going on about running out of orange brownies. Now, I've never ordered any brownies or takeaway at all, especially not orange ones! I live down south as well, so I told her she must have dialled the wrong number. She was really insistent though, saying that 'Inthonys' order was nearly done and she couldn't send his brownies. I just said that was a shame and hoped he wasn't too let down, but definitely the wrong number for me!

I’m not sure what others think, but this number rang me and I didn’t pick up because I was a bit wary. Then, pretty much straight after, the food delivery I’d ordered showed up. The delivery bloke was quite friendly and mentioned he had just tried ringing me 'cause he was having trouble locating my place. He did say that the call came from that exact number. Got my food fine, no problems at all. Seems legit to me, not some dodgy takeaway.
