I picked up the phone and heard a recorded voice claiming to be Avarta Financial Solutions, asking for someone called KC (which are odd initials for someone who’s passed away). I just hung up straight away. When I checked the company, it looked like it was shut down back in Nov 19. I reckon this is a scam and nobody should deal with them at all. Sounds like one of those dodgy debt scams.

This call came from Avarto Financial Solutions, looks like they handle debts for Halifax, Aqua, and Amazon credit cards. They usually ring you if you’ve missed payments or gone over your limit and your card’s been blocked. Honestly, it’s best to sort things out with the creditor yourself rather than Avarto, cos they tend to pile on extra fees.

Got a voicemail from some 'finance firm' about a 'Ann Fotheringham' - nobody by that name has lived here for ages. Totally dodgy, just block or ignore it.

Somebody phoned about a credit card I supposedly have and tried to make me pay off a balance, claiming they already had the details. My card actually has a positive balance and I always pay on time! Told them to sort it out with the bank directly and never ring me back again.

Got a call from this number, it was some automated message that even said my first name which is weird since my landline doesn't ring much at all. It told me to press 1, which I did but then nothing, no-one answered or explained what it was about. No clue who they are or what they wanted, but judging by the loads of comments here, seems like it’s not legit.

these dodgy callers pretend to be from avarto, but they aint connected at all. they do it to make you worried so you ring back. if you do, they try to pull their con. they usually ask for someone whose name you cant hear properly, often sounds foreign. best to just ignore and not bother with them.

I’ve had a couple calls from this number with voicemails telling me to get in touch about my account, but they want me to call back on "citthonky" or something like that - really weird automated message! Never got any letters or emails from them, so I’m thinking this is some kind of scam.
