It’s quite strange, ever since I signed up with a new bank, I’ve been flooded with dodgy calls. Mostly it’s an automated voice pretending to be from HMRC, warning me about some fake tax issues. Thing is, I’m on benefits so I don’t actually pay any tax, so it’s clearly a con. I didn’t hesitate to block and report the number straight away. These scammers seem to think they can trick people into giving away personal info. Real HMRC would never ring out of the blue like that. Feels like I narrowly escaped getting scammed.
