Got a call from a woman who somehow already knew my name. The bloke who rang me actually used my name!! How on earth did he get hold of that along with my phone number? He seemed shocked when I said I wasn’t interested before he even got to explain what his call was regarding. I saw a warning in our local paper today about scammers taking advantage of folk being stuck at home and distracted with worries about the coronavirus, leading them to agree to stuff they wouldn’t normally. Got a ring from this number saying they were with some combined Littlewoods and Vernons pools lot. They went on and on about how you wouldn’t have to check results yourself cos they’d do it and email you. Seemed really dodgy to me, I can’t see a legit company calling from a mobile like that. Football pools are a fresh way to have a go. Way cheaper than the lottery and with 10 outta 50 numbers, you've got a much better shot at winning something. If you’re not up for it, just be upfront and say so. The bloke I spoke with was really polite, not pushy at all, called me once, I said I was tied up, and he rang back exactly when I asked.
