I received a rather alarming call purportedly from BT, claiming that my internet and phone line had fallen victim to hackers or spammers. They threatened to suspend my service and alert the authorities should I refuse to provide them with some personal details. After several minutes of playing along, I eventually hung up. To my surprise, they rang back four more times almost immediately, using different numbers each time. The last two calls took a rather hostile turn, with them raising their voices and resorting to some downright vile language. Rest assured, I’ll be lodging a complaint regarding all five of these numbers.
