I got a call from this number (02070734734) claiming to be from HMRC and warning me about tax fraud worth £997. They kept me on the line for more than half an hour, threatening to freeze my bank accounts and even take my driving licence away. They asked me to press 1, but I didn’t because it seemed dodgy, like they would pass me to some fake HMRC tribunal or court. I’ve now reported this to the real HMRC since it smells like a scam.

I reckon this was a HMRC scam, definitely don’t hit 1 if you get a call from this number (02070734734). It just sends you through to some place pretending to be an HMRC tribunal or court. I ended up chatting for more than half an hour, being told I’m supposedly guilty of dodging tax worth £997. They said they’d freeze my bank accounts and even take my driving licence. I’ve already flagged it up with the actual HMRC.
