Got a message from someone called Laura at HPT Group saying they’re checking if my business can claim back VAT from HMRC. They said they’re going through cases now and wanted to ask me some questions via text. Didn’t ring any bells so I did a bit of digging. Turns out it’s a total scam, trying to mess with your government gateway stuff. If you didn't ask for this, best just ignore or block them.
