I had a phone call from this number, asserting they were from BT/Openreach, claiming there was an issue with my internet connection. They brought up some IP address numbers and proceeded to inquire about the status of the lights on my wall box and router. Next, they insisted I log in to check my internet speed. At this point, I decided to take matters into my own hands and told them I would contact BT directly instead, promptly hanging up. They called back, pushing their claim of being BT, but I remained sceptical. I reiterated my disinterest in continuing the conversation and ended the call. It struck me as odd since it was a mobile number, and their accent felt distinctly Indian.
