I encountered a dodgy situation with a sofa listing on Gumtree. The seller insisted I cover the courier costs upfront, promising they'd transfer the money to my PayPal account afterward. They provided me with an invoice and a link for payment, but I’ve yet to see a single penny in my account. Definitely advise steering clear of that link!
