This loan firm said I could borrow £3000 plus an extra £1000 with no interest, then pay back £80 a month. They told me it would take about one or two weeks for the money to arrive. They also mentioned that if I didn’t use the loan for more than two years, they'd cancel the agreement.

I got a call in the afternoon and when I picked up, I could hear some telly noise in the background but no one was talking at all, which was pretty weird.

They rang me saying they were from Halifax offering a loan. But with all the loud noise in the background and knowing Halifax never cold calls, I quickly figured it was dodgy.
