I got a call from some automated voice that had a really American accent. They claimed to be from HMRC and told me an official letter they supposedly sent got sent back to them. They warned me that if I didn’t hit 1 to talk to someone, legal trouble would follow. Seemed dodgy to me, especially since I never received any letter from HMRC. On top of that, I’ve had texts from someone saying they're from HMRC too, but signing off with the name Jacobs, asking me to ring them. Feels like a scam to me.
