3 yearsDefinitely a scammer. They tried the usual spiel but I wasn’t having any of it. I replied asking who they were and said I was worried since I don’t have any kids. After that, the messages just stopped! Watch out, it’s a common trick.3 yearsOn 26/01/23, I got the exact same texts about the phone and how much money was owed. Luckily, I realised it was fishy before it was too late. What a total con job!3 yearsOn 26/01/23, I got the same message AGAIN about my phone and some money owed. Luckily, I spotted it was dodgy just in time. Total con artists, honestly.3 yearsGot a message saying my daughter had changed her number, but that wasn’t the case at all. Felt a bit dodgy to me.3 yearsGot a message claiming to be my daughter saying she’d dropped her phone in the toilet. The text said her bank had locked her online account because of a new number, and she needed to pay an “invoice” for £1,850.40, otherwise there’d be interest added. They wanted me to send the money to a “Costinel Radu” with Sort Code 77-72-37 and Account Number 37472760, ref AA70. I almost got caught out, but luckily I called my daughter first and she said she’d never sent anything like that. Watch out, this scam is pretty sneaky!3 yearsSomeone texted my dad pretending to be one of us, saying it was my sister. They claimed she’d dropped her phone in the loo and couldn’t get her online banking working. They asked for £1850.40 but my dad offered £1000 instead. When they gave the bank info, the account name was Darius Mitoiu, which seemed odd. Luckily, my sister messaged him, so he saw straight away it was a con. He nearly sent the cash though! Make sure to block and report these numbers!DadDarius Mitoiu3 yearsI'm not sure about that.3 yearsGot a message from someone pretending to be family, saying they’ve changed their number because their phone fell in the loo or something like that. Then they ask for money, claiming they can’t get into their bank. This isn’t the first time it’s happened to me either - the last time the message came from a Tesco mobile number. Haven’t figured out where this latest one’s coming from yet, but it definitely feels like a scam.TescoSubmit Your Own Report (07474 497915)
