Some bloke claiming to be from the tax dept called me up saying I owed nearly £3900 in income tax from 2008 to 2010. He went on about magistrates issuing warrants for me. When I told him I’d worked for the government on PAYE, he kept pushing for a while but hung up once I mentioned my bank was seriously overdrawn. I decided to call the number back, and a woman answered, saying no one from that number had phoned her. She then told me, "you called me." Quite the weird situation!
