I received a text from this number claiming to be from Barclays UK, saying I’d ordered a new card to be sent to an address that’s not mine. It also said to ring 01218159858 straight away if I hadn’t made the request. When I called that number, it did sound like an automated Barclays message. But I didn’t keep going with the call, and instead dialled the number on the back of my actual card. The Barclays person I spoke to confirmed that number wasn’t theirs and warned it was likely a scam.

But I didn’t trust it and called the customer service number on my real card. The rep told me that the number in the text isn’t theirs and it’s likely a scam. So glad I double-checked before doing anything!
