Got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, said there was an issue with my computer and it was spreading to my mates. Told them to shove it as I ain't got Microsoft. They rang again, so I've blocked the number now and just ignore it.

They rang me saying they were from Citizens Advice and that I had some unsecured debts. I got them at a really bad time, so I just said 'Citizens Advice don’t do calls like this, piss off!' and ended the call. Felt a bit guilty for cursing afterwards, but after reading others say they've been rude too, I’m less bothered now.

Spoke to an Asian woman who said she was from Citizens Advice, said it was about some debts I supposedly owed. It's awful that they use the CAB’s name like this, could really trick older folks.

Got a call from an Asian bloke who said he was from the citizens advice centre. He asked for me by name and mentioned something about overdue debts. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a missed call while I was at work. I use the t####er app on my phone and it showed the name as Victoria Lester from Durham, born 1977. So it's clear the number was once linked to her, especially after checking this site and all the other comments. The app even shows her full address (though it might be fake info to hide a possible scam). I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now. Honestly, I'd recommend everyone get t####er - it helps spot scammers and lets you block them straight away.

Someone pretending to be from Citizens Advice called me. The annoying thing is, I already have an ongoing case with them, so I even left work just to talk to her! I’ve sent a text to 7726, which is the number for phone operators to look into this sort of thing, so fingers crossed they’ll sort it out and block the scammer.

Got a call from a bloke with an African accent who asked for me by my name. He claimed to be from citizens advice and said it was about something, but I couldn’t catch what. Then he asked if I had any debts, calling me madam. When I said that was private, he told me to go away and just hung up. So rude! I nearly slammed the phone down on him.

Got a couple of calls in 2 days from a lady who sounded Asian, saying she was from citizens advice telling me I got unpaid debts. I told her I dont owe anything and she got rude and just hung up! Watch out, im blocking the numbers! They keep harrassing using loads of different mobiles. Citizens advice wouldnt call like this unless to check an appointment you made, and defo not from a mobile number, usually your local office landline.

If you get spam texts, you can send them straight to your phone company for free by forwarding the message to 7726. Most networks use 7726, but Vodafone uses 87726 instead. I keep all annoying call numbers saved under a contact named Scam. When I get a suspicious number, I block it, report it through 7726, then add it to that contact. This trick has stopped about 90% of these calls for me. Might be useful for others too!

Got a call from this number earlier today, the guy wanted to speak to my wife and even used her first name. He was really pushy, saying she owed some kind of debt. This number rang me saying they'd reached me from the National Lottery and that I'd won £20,000 in the weekend draw. They already had my name, phone number and ticket ID and were asking how I wanted my prize paid out. But when I asked how and when I bought the ticket, they wouldn't answer and just ignored me no matter how many times I asked. After about 4 or 5 tries, I just ended the call.
