Got a robocall saying I’d ignored a letter from HMRC and that if I didn’t press 1 to speak to someone court action would follow. I waited but just ended up with a silent pause before the phone cut off with a 'goodbye'. I’m flagging this because my elderly dad got a nearly identical call last year, and they even mentioned the police were involved. I told him straight away it was a con, but it freaked him out so bad he actually went down to the police station just to check if they were after him.
