Just received a text supposedly from Hermes saying my parcel is ready but I need to pay £1.45 via a link to confirm. Problem is, I've not bought anything nor shared my number with any delivery firm or online shop. Why would they ask me to pay up front like that? Sounds like a classic scam trying to pass off as a legit delivery service. Definitely something dodgy going on here.

Got a text today saying: Hermes: A parcel is ready for delivery, kindly confirm payment of £1.45 by clicking here: myhermes.secure-process-details[###] But I never bought anything, nor shared my phone number with any shop, website, or courier. Why would I pay a delivery firm that always operates on a pay-before-you-get-your-stuff basis? This has all the signs of a fraud pretending to be a well-known courier.
