Somebody rang me pretending to be from Amazon, asking if I’d recently bought an iPhone 15. They wanted me to share an OTP, which came through on a number that looked official, so I gave it to them. After that, they asked me to install an app called ConnectWise so they could access my screen. I didn’t feel comfortable with that and said no. Then they said I’d have to pay for the phone anyway. I told them I’d ring Amazon directly, and suddenly they got really rude. When I actually spoke to Amazon, they said they never call customers like that.
