After a ton of stressful messages, I ended up nearly sending quite a bit of money. Thankfully, my bank caught it was dodgy and blocked the transaction, so the scammers didn’t get away with it this time.WhatsApp4 yearsGot a message from this number on my phone saying something like “Test and Trace: You’ve been near someone who tested positive. Book a test kit here: https://pcr-test-delivery.com.” The link took me to a site that looked just like the NHS. I ended up entering my card info to cover a £1.28 fee, thinking it was legit. Turns out it was a total con, as they tried to charge my card 64 times after that! Thankfully, Tesco Bank blocked all the payments.
