Today I got a call from a man with an Indian accent who said his name was Alan Brown. He claimed Barclays was about to send me £2,500. I told him I’ve never used Barclays before, and asked where exactly he was calling from. He replied that he was with the Financial Contact Authority in Scotland. Apparently, he already had my name and address and said I was lucky to be getting the money, but he needed my sort code and bank info first. He said I’d get a cheque in about 30 days after that.

Lately, I’ve been getting a couple of calls like this. One person actually asked me for some cash, saying they were struggling to get by this week. Another call was just plain rude, telling me to go away. Quite annoying, really.

I picked up the phone but there was complete silence, so I just ended the call.

I picked up but there was nothing on the other end, then the call just dropped out.

When I picked up the phone, there was nothing but silence for a bit. Then, someone started going on about some money I was supposed to get from an ‘accident’ I was allegedly involved in. I ended the call straight away, and luckily, they haven’t tried ringing me again.

Not sure who it is, seems like a mobile but feels like a scam to me.

I picked up and some woman claimed I owed her money and said she’d told me to ring her number. Wasn’t expecting that at all!
